In the summer of 2000 I visited the area in northern New Mexico that's the main setting for The Luck of Madonna 13. Love at first sight, it was. On one dusty afternoon I dropped down to the Cumbres & Toltec railroad yard in Chama. I wandered around in search of treasures to amuse my lens. "Found objects," I believe, is the term of art. One of these I call Saxophone & Snakeskin; maybe you can find it.


Somebody once asked me how anybody could tell what these pictures are about. I still haven't come up with the perfect way to explain that they are only about themselves: little pixel islands adrift on an ocean of mind. Sometimes that's enough.
